We Are Church in Canada (French speaking)

Here is some information concerning our group "Le Réseau Culture et foi" (Montréal).

We have set up a website (monstly in French but some English) which has several thousand visitors a month.  Address: www.culture-et-foi.com

We held several seminars over the pas 2-3 years on subjects of Church reform.  Attendance varied but 50 would be average.

A sub-group, The Ottawa Statement Group, has prepared a "Manifeste" on the lack of priests which was set to all Canadian Bishops.  A new letter has recently been sent to Bishops on the same subject prior to their annual meeting.

A committee has been set up which will provided timely reactions to newsworthy items.

One of our objectives for the coming years is to become socially involved with groups such as anti-poverty groups and other social actions groups.  

The Réseau Culture et foi comprises three groups in different cities.  Total paid membership is about 50; another 150 receive our "Bulletin".  Our aim is to encourage Catholics to seek Church reform.  We operate mainly within the French-speaking communities of Canada, particularly in Québec.
